Proper hydration is essential to our bodies on a whole but is particularly important when working out. Considering that the body is roughly 60-65% water, it not only protects and hydrates our organs, but also transports nutrients to our cells and balances our electrolyte levels.
Cramps can be painful during intense workout if cells are not properly hydrated, so be sure to drink adequate amounts as you exercise.
COCONUT WATER
An abundantly available local fruit packed with minerals and other essential nutrients is another consideration to hydrate the body. Care must be taken though in the amount of coconut water consumed since it's high in potassium which affects heart rhythm.
